EASA warns of missile strikes

The European Air Safety Agency (EASA) together with Eurocontrol have issued warnings to air traffic regarding possible military action throughout Syrian airspace, particularly the use of cruise missiles. European authorities also cautioned that radio navigation systems could also be impacted. Whilst Syria is categorised as a conflict zone until early April, EASA has warned of the possibility of civil aircraft to be misidentified by military forces at all altitudes.
Qatar Airways loss

Flag carrier, Qatar Airways, announced that the airline sustained a substantial loss in the 2017 financial year. Airline officials reportedly stated the extensive blockade imposed on Qatar by other gulf states has severely impacted operations. As a result of the blockade, the airline has been forced to cease services to over 18 destinations and has also been met with increased fuel and operating costs.
WestWind Aviation crash initial findings

The initial investigation into the WestWind Aviation accident, which resulted in an ATR-42 impacting ground shortly after take-off, has found the aircraft had not been properly de-iced prior to departure. The Transportation Safety Board of Canada (TSB) reported the aircraft had experienced icing conditions in the previous landing at Fond-du-Lac. As is normal procedure, the aircraft anti-icing systems were engaged however, residual ice remained attached to parts of the airframe, which subsequently resulted in degraded aerodynamic performance for the following flight.
