Nok Air discloses further progress on business rehabilitation

Thailand's Nok Air has disclosed further progress on repaying creditors as part of its business rehabilitation plan for the period from 29 September to 28 December. Its plan administrators have made repayments of $1.87 million and Bt58.5 million ($1.68 million), the low-cost carrier says in a 28 December filing to the Stock Exchange of Thailand. For the period from 29 June to 28 September, its plan administrators made repayments of $1.93 million and Bt16.8 million. The airline expects that the improving travel situation and overall business recovery are factors supporting its return to "normal and efficient business". Nok Air received approval from Thailand's Central Bankruptcy Court for its rehabilitation plan at a September 2021 hearing, and in October 2021, disclosed plans to boost its working capital in 2022 via an additional loan and capital injection. Its plan administrators have been authorised to increase registered capital by up to Bt5 billion. The sum will be raised through issuing 5 billion ordinary shares at a par value of Bt1 per share, through a single or multiple rounds as required to operate the business.
Bankruptcy court closes Aeromexico's Chapter 11 cases

The US Bankruptcy Court for the Southern District of New York has issued a final decree closing the Chapter 11 cases of Aeromexico and its subsidiaries Aerovias de Mexico, Aerolitoral and Aerovias Empresa de Cargo. Aeromexico says the reorganised debtors' plan of reorganisation, which became fully effective on 17 March, has been substantially consummated, and that distributions on account of almost 100% of all eligible allowed claims have been made. Considering this, the bankruptcy court determined that entry of the final decree was appropriate, it adds.Davis Polk & Wardwell and Sainz Abogados acted as legal counsel to Aeromexico, Rothschild as financial adviser and AlixPartners as restructuring adviser.
Thai Airways to hire over 300 cabin crew to support growth

Thai Airways International is planning to recruit over 300 cabin crew to support the noteworthy growth in travel demand. The move is in accordance with the airline's plan to increase flight frequencies in the first quarter of 2023 following the significant growth in travel demand in the fourth quarter of 2022, as well as its growing tendency in 2023, the carrier says.
