Porter to serve Newfoundland routes this summer
February 28, 2024
Porter Airlines plans to launch two new routes to St. John and Deer Lake in Newfoundland from Ottawa and Halifax starting 6 June and 4 June, respectively. The Ottawa and St. John's flights will be operated daily using Embraer E195-E2 aircraft marking the first time in five years that any Canadian carrier has served the route, the Toronto-based carrier says. Additionally, the carrier will operate daily flights on the Halifax-Deer Lake route using the De Havilland Dash 8-400. Porter Airlines' president Kevin Jackson states: "Newfoundland is already an important piece of Porter's network, with existing service connecting St John's with Toronto-Pearson and Halifax. These new routes mean that passengers have more options to enjoy many of Canada's signature spots, while enjoying the journey as well as the destination."
