Two Cathay pilots suffer vision impairment during flights

Two Cathay Pacific captains suffered a loss of eyesight on two different flights a month apart. Hong Kong’s aviation incident authority classified as these as “serious incidents”. Both the flights landed safely as the co-pilots, both first officers, had to take control, says Hong Kong’s Air Accident Investigation Authority says in a media statement. Air Italy suspending three transatlantic routes over the winter

Air Italy will stop operating the Los Angeles, San Francisco and Toronto in the winter months in favour of serving what it terms "counter-seasonal" destinations which includes the Maldives, Mombasa, Tenerife and Zanzibar. The airline will, however continue to operate its transatlantic services to Miami and New York from Milan Malpensa. "Repositioning our aircraft to the outstations overnight, we will now be able to offer enhanced connectivity to our international destinations and better timings for those coming to Milan for business or leisure," states Air Italy chief operating officer Rossen Dimitrov.
Hong Kong Airlines served court orders

The directors and managers of Hong Kong Airlines’ (HKA) have been served court orders related to management issues.
The airline have confirmed that it has received the orders, but adds in a statement that the orders are temporary, “pending further confirmation by the court and are subject to change”. “In any event, they do not affect the day-to-day operations of the airline,” HKA said. HKA has been in the spotlight after media reports about board departures and concerns about its financial health. On the 16th of April, Hong Kong’s airline licensing authority asked them again to clarify how it will improve its financial situation. Despite this crisis, HKA says in its latest statement that its operations will remain unchanged.“We continue to operate as normal and there are no changes to our management,” HKA adds.
It did not mention who brought the court orders against them, nor did it provide further details.
